Welcome to the Esquimalt Men's Shed — where community, camaraderie, and craftsmanship come together.
We’re a group of men from all walks of life who gather to connect, share skills, work on meaningful projects, and support one another. Located in the heart of Esquimalt, British Columbia, our Shed is a welcoming, inclusive space where friendship and purpose are built right alongside woodworking projects, repairs, and creative endeavors.
Originating in Australia, the Men’s Shed movement has spread around the world as a way to combat social isolation and support mental well-being, especially among older men. But in truth, a Men’s Shed is for any man who values good company, meaningful activity, and a sense of belonging.
At the Esquimalt Men's Shed, there’s no pressure and no expectations — just a place to come as you are, lend a hand (or ask for one), and enjoy the satisfaction of working together.
Woodworking & Repairs: From birdhouses to boat paddles, we’re always building something useful or beautiful.
Community Projects: We collaborate with local groups and offer our skills to support schools, parks, and nonprofits.
Skill Sharing: Whether you're a seasoned craftsman or just curious, we learn from each other — no experience required.
Conversation & Connection: Sometimes, the most important tool in the shop is the coffee pot.
We welcome men of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Whether you're retired, semi-retired, new to the area, or just looking for a place to connect, the Shed is open to you. No prior experience is necessary — just a willingness to participate, listen, and lend your unique strengths.
Isolation can affect anyone, and the Esquimalt Men's Shed exists to provide a safe, supportive, and relaxed environment where men can feel useful, valued, and connected. Our Shed is more than just a workspace — it’s a place to belong.
Come by for a visit. Have a coffee. Bring your ideas. Pull up a stool — there’s always room for one more at the bench.
